Yay for 2011!

Hope everyone is having a

wonderful New Year!

I am looking forward to things settling

down a bit, ha, but I doubt it.

Sad to say I had no time for

J. Nichelle this Holiday Season

but I did do a lovely custom piece for a

sweet client.

So 2010 wasn't completely

without any vintage delights :)

Oh and some picture frames,

I have one left I think I'll list this week

I am however working on some fun things.

I hope all of you had a lovely

holiday season I miss you

and hope to blogging regularly soon.

ok so it has been awhile and I owe all of you some news!

Well the shop has officially opened,

and this is literally my first chance to blog in forever

and I miss you all so much!

I will keep it short and sweet

because I really need to get to sleep.

We opened over the weekend

3 levels full and the turnout was wonderful

My blessed mess...

I am blessed with a wonderful mess!

My sweet mamma has been helping me unpack and

restack the new tchatchkie heaven!

two 39 gallon trash bags full of bubble wrap and

2 of peanuts 24 boxes

and this enormous pile of rubber bands...

Here is a close up of moms two favorite shelves

She also pointed out to me how many of the "girls" looked

like the fabulous Doris Day!

Here is the progress on the other side

And here is the full view of the new "digs"

I am hoping to be finished by weeks end,

pray hard for that one girls!

Many new songs have been made up about the tchatchkie

and many new forms of spelling and LOTS and Lots of jokes!

maybe I'll share some but not tonight...

Lazy days of Summer

Pack, MOVE, unpack....

that has been summer and I am over it!

So with Bluebird Lane set to open Sept. 17th

I decided to not work 18/7 the last 2 weeks

and enjoy the kids and warm weather before I am

completely buried again.... I am still working 10 hrs

a day or so between unpacking and on the computer

setting up accounts and ordering....

Most of the kitchen is unpacked,

I have the kids rooms done...

his is all the way done video game themed out

hers is 75 percent done completely changed

and grown up lots of black, zebra, and pops

of red, hot pink, and turquoise.

And well this is the new Hubby's office/ my studio

split down the middle, can you spy my white plastic

drawers way in the back?

This is the before we've made progress

since this but not quite there yet!

Deck the Halls Friday I am glad to be back!

Here is a peek at our entry last Christmas,

the photos are not he best but you'll get the idea.

I may have even showed this before but

I can't remember! HAHA

I LOVE Annalee Elves

And over the years I have collected the penguins and

polar bears, it's such a fun display for the kids.

This is my favorite piece I like to decorated

it with vintage for each holiday.

The apothecary jars are filled with snow and

a bottle brush tree then a vintage salt and pepper snow couple

those were my favorite things last year.

I put the Manger in the entry China cabinet each year

It keeps it from getting knocked over...

And up top is the very first bottle brush anything

I did. The kids and I did the houses in '07

and the piece on the right is the first J. Nichelle prototype.

Christmas Swappin' Goodness!

Well Hello bloggy friends I'm back! Well sort of Haha!

Moving is done, unpacking however

well ya know how that goes....

Working on getting the studio up and running,

while my internet access is at best iffy out here in the country.

I participated in darling Michele Askeroth's

at Something Special~

Holiday Magic, Christmas in July Swap.

I want to show off my swap goodies from

my sweet Valarie at Glittery Daze and Nights

How adorable is this sparkly creation she sent me?

I was squealing with delight!

I can hardly wait to display them,

but not only did she send that one but this,

and this one as well!

I am feeling a bit spoiled, that is a lot of work and the glitter is perfect,

and I just love the embellished Mercury glass bell!

These darling cupcake ornaments were whisked away by

the kids immediately for their trees without even asking.

I adore this party popper I didn't want to open it,

but I am so happy I did:) look at the vintage goodies

that were hiding inside!

Summer eyes....

yes his old one was so yucky but of course he

We have had a wonderful year and a half here

but due to irreconcilable differences with people who are

not being honest we are moving.

I am so sad to leave this gorgeous home

We thought we would never leave but stuff happens!

At least we had a great 4th of July with 25

friends and family and we celebrated

My great aunts 80th

and her older brothers 84th!

I will miss the views and the spring and the beautiful

craftsmanship, it was a treat to live here.

We put A LOT of work into this house.

But we found a new place and a new adventure

is about to begin. So between moving and opening the shop

BLUEBIRD LANE

I will not be blogging as much I have hardly at all

lately but do check in ya never know!

Well my sweet friends I have a little news...

I have signed the lease and gotten keys to my

first shop and it's called~

Bluebird Lane

I really believe this is a match made in heaven
and am very excited.So this is going to be a long
couple of months as we are moving

on August 1st to a new home

The mantle redone to reflect hubby and I's style

All of our bathroom built-ins emptied that
house CHACHKE HEAVEN
As my kids have come to call it "where old
unwanted chachkes go to get a new life"
they are working on a commercial...

finish the wreath I started last November
when I realized I had pneumonia, NAH

Get the two pieces of broken glass repaired
so I don't have to dust the Christmas all year
That is just plain silly!

How about that new custom cabinetry made so
everything is displayed so I can be inspired
HAHAHA

Well this is what I have to share
at least it's an honest post!
I really did consider going and burying
my head in the sand,
calling in sick or even stealing photos of
someone else's space and saying it was mine.
Well I've given you the truth and the
worst at night iPhone photos possible!
If it were daylight you could see I have an
ocean view out that window and that this is in my bedroom!
I am however grateful for the space I can call MINE!

The first thing God did...

"In the beginning God created..."

the first words God shares with us are these!

I used to teach my art class that we were the first class mentioned.

The kids got a real kick out of that :)

So do I,

no wonder I am happiest in my studio,

I feel real joy when I am designing something"new"

I am so grateful He created her :D

but I think I assisted with that project

And I guess he did too HA HA!

We spent the weekend with her,

He was at a sleepover with

the buddy he's talking to on the mic

(Can anyone relate?)

We drove up and adventured on the coast and

took a long walk on the sand

at a beach we had never been to before

this was halfway down the cliff

Small section of the quite steep path

we walked out to the "rock" in the shore on the right

then back to the parking lot in the trees behind him

It was well worth it!

OoOooh I love a feather tree!

Even tinsel feather type tree!

So I am thrilled that Tammy at Tinsel and Company

has chosen a feather tree for her post this week

at Deck the Halls Friday.

And then she went and did this!

oops how did that get in there I ate as I unwrapped which

truly made this swap better than Christmas.

No shopping for months wrapping for weeks

and cooking for days,

just me, my gifts and chocolate!

Fresh mini wieners baked this morning :P

CoCo Moo's first litter!

The red one came out first, quick as he could.

Then the top piebald one came out next, breech and got

a little stuck half way out and after 4 minutes of hard pushing

and not budging at all and I wiggled her out.

The kids are calling her coco puff :D

The bottom piebald boy came out breech as well

and his head would not come out after 5 minutes so I assisted again.

At 6 minutes oxygen deprivation can start taking place

and no one wants that!

CoCo has been a wonderful mommy doing everything she should...

It has been a crazy morning!

Creative overload

All week I stayed out of the studio till Friday.

Just placed the gummy bears these

strawberry with cream cheese frosting cupcakes for after the game.

I got this finished just in time this morning

for Soda icy pops last basketball game this season,

Her Coaches are expecting their first, A baby boy!

So I whipped this up for them in 2 1/2 days

in between lots of baseball and basketball games, phew!

And little Miss CoCo Moo (yes that is her real name)

Is going to pop any minute, she wont eat

or come out of her kennel and is starting to make noise.

I have mid-wifed a lot of pups in my day even driving

across country last spring in the truck!

camelia is out my back door...
this pink tablecloth is at my grandma/moms
house, we are playing gestures and I think
mom was diving, but I can't remember
that game is the best we laugh soo hard some
have been known to tinkle!
One of my favorite pink vintage
necklaces I even have found it in red!
My pink chubby finger after I dropped
some piping Hot Hot glue on it!
Always stick those burns in water,
not ice,
for 20 minutes and it works wonders
MOM dressed up in her pink duds for work,
on Halloween
She wore her high dollar personal pair of
billy bob's all day!
How would you like her to wait on you at CVS?
I can't believe I got this shot with my PHoNE!

somewhere cold and magical...

Hi there, I'd like to welcome you to the

North Pole,

I am been making sure Santa is getting off to a

great start for his Christmas Eve deliveries...

We make sure the yard is all spiffed up, so Santa

can have a nice Christmas without the

MRS. wanting him to knock the Honey Do's off her list!

It's looking good and Mr. Frosty is back there

Keeping a watch so one messes anything up,

elves and reindeer can be quite mischievous!

Well it looks like everything is ready to go,

Sleigh packed - check

reindeer washed and harnessed - check

Santa showered and dressed with clean

sox and underwear - check

house clean and candycane arch shined - check

yard lookin' good - check

decorations up - check

OK it looks like everything is ready!

Hmm is it just me or did summer creep up too quick?

I usually have so much more done by now,
think I'm spending all my chore time at the beach, oops!

Who want's a peek at the daylilies?

I might have a slight obsession....
but you can divide them and keep going...
well that's what I told hubby :)

This one was huge...

and so is this baby...

I love the colors of these...

I really seem to have a thing for the frilly edges...

I have a small problem though....

Between the dogs the deer and the yard guys...

The identifying tags are ALL gone!

I have a list with pictures I made as I purchased them...

So just maybe I'll be able to figure it out!

Now you ask where did these beauties come from?

They are in North Carolina and you can click the the picture

to go straight to their ebay shop.

I have been stunned by their service and the SIZE of the fans!

Some clumps were 3 fans big with roots the

size of a dinner plateso I divided them and brought them

over to grandmas and she has been tickled with the size

and beauty!If you spend over $100 you get a free plant!

These are a wonderful investment in your garden,

and you can even bid on auctions and get them cheaper,

They are having a 30% off sale right now...

That's what I did and my yard it exploding with color this

year and I haven't even pulled a weed

or planted yet in 2010!

This is only a few that have bloomed so far

I haven't been covered in glitter yet this week but I did get my
swap packages off! woohoo I'm only a day late!
lucky for me Nevada is close to California
so it shouldn't take too long to get there!
Ok so i've gotten in 3 more walks

all about 2 miles each since last post

and did not realize till tonight there was sea mist on the lens

so sorry for the blur but I gotta share :)

Long Walks on the beach...

Yesterday was warm and beautiful

and we needed to get out of the house...

so we jumped in the "fraulein" hubby's car, with no real plan

and headed North on Hwy 1 or the Pacific Coast Hwy

We ended up to Pescadero State Beach

You really get a sense of awe at places like this,

Where the land seems to rise from the sea and there is nothing

except a little strip of sand separating open ocean

and cliff edges with rolling hills on top that fade into the mountains...

Fire snail is truly a spec against this cliff...

We went a quarter mile North along the cliffs but the tide was rolling in,

So we decided to walk as far as we could South...

we walked all the way to the cliff edge on the far right of the picture,

the dark line touching the edge!

Nothing but the Ocean till Hawaii behind her...

There were more than a hundred jellyfish washed up

along the beach on our walk...

tons of drift wood, fire snail found an arrow :)

And soda Icy pop tried to bring this home!

This is the cliff at the end of the long walk

What and amazing view through the hole!

And PCH going over the river that flows to the sea...

And now for the walk back...

I figure this may be the last Summer they want to hang out with us

So we have set a goal of visiting and walking as much as possible safely

the beaches along the coast between

Santa Cruz and San Francisco this summer.

We'll see how many we get too thank goodness we have the annual state park pass

which paid for itself in the first month :)

We'll see where we end up today have a great Sunday!

Happy Birthday to Hubby!

He is my best friend, given me such amazing kids,

always talks to me and tells me it's gonna be ok.

Listens to me and puts up with my madness.

I would be lost without his love.

I wish him a wonderful day as we enjoy our wonderful life.

It's not perfect, but it's our shared adventure and I wouldn't

be able to handle it without him.

He is a good man with a big heart.

I am grateful for my mother....

My Mom, I love her, I am blessed to have her!

She is an incredible woman of strength and love.

She is a survivor , had cancer as a teenager, 3 operations between ages 14-16

it was the mid 60's people thought it was contagious.

Me, my daughter, my grandma, and my MOM

She has always taught me to look forward and to be kind to others even when they are not.

She is not perfect we have had a few hard times but she taught me to forgive and forget.

My grandma and my mom eating one of their favorites gnocchi and pesto

She is Grandma and grandpa to my children, hubby's parents were gone before we met,

my father is not part of our lives anymore...

She has taught and lived the forgive your family even when they hurt you so we can stay together,

don't hold a grudge. They are important!

She is my mom and I love her!

My babies on Easter, I love being their mom!

Pink Saturday is Lei Day

Aloha!

May day is Lei day in Hawaii...

I grew up there on the North Shore of Oahu and lived there for 13 years.

It was very different life and time I am so blessed to have lived there, I would not trade those memories for anything . I get very reminiscent on Lei Day as it is a celebration of the kings and queens of Hawaii. All the Schools have elaborate programs and luaus with lots of amazing entertainment.

Here are a few of my memories I could not get to my Lei day pictures in time but maybe next year....

I can almost smell the pink Plumeria now....

Sunset Beach Christian School

started by missionaries in the 50's and still going strong, It was a school where no one was left behind and everyone was loved. Music was a huge part of education, you had to be able to read notes to pass 4th grade and play the ukulele to pass 5th! this is a photo of my current uke

I am hoping to trade up soon...

Our school was across the street from this beach , Keiki beach and we often had P.E. there

Here is me as Mayor eileen Anderson for the lei Day program in the 5th grade till the day I left Hawaii people would stop me and say "Hi Mayor Anderson" even though I had no idea who they were :)

I miss the beauty of Hawaii I do not miss the expense and island fever,

you can only drive around it so many times!

Geckos are everywhere in Hawaii, love this pink torch ginger....

I used to work here at Waimea Valley and swim at the falls almost every evening after work they walk down the valley watching the sunset and listening to the peacocks call...

I t seems so long ago, it was i haven't been back in 16 years...

My brother, my cousin and I (in the pink bathing suit) the first year we lived there....

A glorious pink hued North Shore Sunset, boy do I miss those....

Pink Saturday and a blue egg....

Hello all my Sweet pinky pals!

this has been a long hard week hubby has been very ill, we even had a nice 7 hr trip to the ER, miss Icy Soda POP is finally getting better after 4 weeks and I completely threw my lower back out to the point of crawling in pain... But we are gonna make it thanks to a wonderful family. My Bro and Mr. Fire Snail have kept us a float with cooking, trips to the store, running food and meds up and down stairs and doing laundry. I just am so grateful for these special boys! And my mom who in spite of working full time manages to stop by after and check on us and willing to do whatever we need.

We are very blessed!

Here is an egg I created for a swap.

Yah I know it's not all pink but the butterfly and the bird's cheeks are.

Here is one of the finished letters for my Cousins baby girl who has a 9 letter name PHEW!

I know how much I can handle, this has been with me for 21 years now.

Hubby is such a sweetheart to help me out when I need him, I couldn't do any of it without him :)

Been doing a lot of work in the ole noggin' though,

wonder what will come of all that,
I bet it will be glittery!

Do you see my Darling basket Cathy made? is that Gorgeous or what! the amazing details of the chick and jelly beans and one of her fabulous cupcakes! What sweet crackled eggs too!

And I have to tell you, I have never been a yellow lover till this year and it's all Cathy's fault! She did a post a while back about a beautiful piece she created using yellow and aqua and I fell in LOVE!

I was smitten with these colors and this piece, some one bought it too quickly before I could get to it!

Yellow is so happy ya know :)

so in my swap package from Cathy I was so spoiled I could hardly believe it!

I know Marzipan, oh but it was airy and delicate and 7 of us ate the whole thing with a fresh pot of decaf. It was gone so quick i didn't even get a picture, I surely was not going to have mine disappear for the sake of a photo!It was sooooo good mom announced that is what she wants for her birthday!

Hubby brought the princess home from Hoffman's bakery cafe next to Pizza my Heart when he picked up our pies, a cheese and a Fort Point, so yummy! (Light Tomato & Pesto Sauce with Roma Tomatoes,Chicken, Ricotta, Sausage, Artichoke, Basil & Herbs. 1st Place 2006 California Pizza Championships)

after Mr. Fire Snail's baseball game Saturday evening. 4 generations of us sat in the bleacher's and yelled at the ump!

Mr. Fire snail is #1 and hubby is in the white shirt..GO ROCKIES!

It was a pleasant Surprise to finish a great day and Hubby scored BIG points!

I think I blog about food maybe a little too much! LOL

Where is my baby?

Well it finally happened last Friday Miss Soda Icy POP turned 13!

(I made that headband there is a polka dot birthday candle on it)

My baby a teenager? How is this possible I still talk to my best friend from Jr. High,

how can SHE be in Jr. High?
YOU know I still feel like i'm 13 in my head maybe 16 at the oldest most days.

It hits you when you are at the mall and you look around and say "oh I used to have one of those , but mine was fluorescent pink" and your baby picks one out in fluorescent yellow! the 80's revival has really made me feel old, although I think it looks better this time around!

But my baby, what's next, kissing boys, driving, spring break, senior trip and poof off to college? I'm not ready for all of this! I want to pick her up and hold her forever and now it just goes by so fast I can feel her growing up and pulling away and ooooh make it stop!

I am pooped! My baby Miss Soda Icy POP turned 13 on Friday it was an ALL DAY celebration, Mr Fire Snail had his first 2 baseball games this week, I finished my egg swap project, got our sweet girl Bella Bunbun snipped no more pups for her and I cannot even remember the rest it is all a blur!!!

I do apologize for not visiting and all my sweet blog friends this week I just haven't had time in fact I really don't have the time for this post! I need a vacation! Hee Hee don't we all!

A sweet friend...

Well that Fabulous Miss Tobi Britton over at the Pink Pixie Forest is really something, we agreed to do a pixie bottle brush swap and of course I haven't sent mine yet but I got hers today and oh my I squealed with sheer delight when I opened my Pixie pulling her fairy trees!

How Gorgeous is that!

Then I couldn't stand it and tore open the rest of the package and put up quickly the other Gorgeous trees I won on eBay from her Pink Fairy Cottage store!

Can you see hoe perfect the pink one goes with my Easter? LOVE IT

Ant the aqua and soft green one here just delighted!

And the Fairy Spring tree in all it's loveliness was meant to go in the yard at Mr and Mrs. Hare's!

I am so busy I really don't even have time to be doing this post but I miss you all so much and I had to she the handmade beauty from sweet Tobi.

Early St. Patrick's Day, Rock Climbing, and cupcakes...

Tonight my Grandma is Having St. Patrick's Day, because of everyone schedule this week, corned beef and cabbage as she always does for us rowdy non Irish Italians... Except for Mr. FireSanil he is wanna be Irish, there are leprchauns and clovers in his room year round, Irish nutcrackers, a knit hat with clovers, 5 irish saying t- shirts and and Irish hoodie, etc. you get the picture.... He thought he died and went to heaven when we were in Chicago! He shopped in an Irish store!

Anyway grandma asked me to bring dessert and I've been sick all week and Miss Soda icy pop wanted to make cupcakes really bad so I agreed, but she is at her belay class to get certified to handle the ropes and repel herself in rock climbing.

(this is their first climb ever her descending him ascending)

The kids started climbing in January and go twice a week, they love it, Miss Soda Icy pop has been a climber since bith, Mr. Fire Snail however has not and had a fear of heights. I had to encouragingly forced him to go the first few weeks, but now he is a spider!

So as I sit here I must confess I cannot bake out of a box! It can bake as long as it is some crazy from scratch recipe but not box mix it always fails so I don't bake much I just don't have time for all that mess :) So When Miss Soda Icy pop gets home she'll decorate the cup cakes and I pray I haven't ruined them ! The last batch of brownies came out so yucky I was banished from ever trying again!

SPRING Cleaning!

Hi my name is Jennie and I am a messaholic!

phew there i said it out loud. (when I was a teenager sometimes it would be 2ft. deep of clothes and shoes in my room) Not that my living room is ever a mess or unstraightened ( my type A hubby is a neat FREAK) but when I do projects I get so involved it's overwhelming (it only lasts a week at most) but this time my studio was totally out of hand I could no longer move or make anything else! I unpacked 13 boxes of easter supplies that I left in the garage and OH was it something to find space for it all! It was a literal mountain of vintage on my 9ft. table! 6 hrs. later I was sobering up from my mess :)

Sorry there is no before picture that would be WAY too embarrassing! and to some of you this is still to cluttered ( but I do have 3 project going on there) but to me it's 6 GLORIOUS feet of clean wide open space! I might be having a destash sale here soon.
Some day I'll show the uber organized other side of the studio but I had to get this off my chest :)
